In January of this year, we embarked on another journey to Ethiopia. Although we have been visiting this country for eleven years now, no two trips have been alike. Each journey has been unique and valuable in its own way.
This time we visited the wife of a pastor in the town of Bonga who had died in a traffic accident. He was a kind and compassionate Christian with whom we had worked in various ministries for several years. This loss was very difficult for his wife, as she lost not only her husband but also her livelihood. She withdrew from social life and didn't speak to anyone for many months. She didn't know how she would pay off her loan debts. We arranged for her to receive support from the church. A few weeks after our departure, she learned that her debts had been paid and that she had even received some money for necessary expenses. Tearfully, she thanked God that her prayers had been answered.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in this service. Thank you for your prayers.
Another trip and a Christmas campaign in Ethiopia are being planned.
Due to the ongoing drought and civil war, special aid is needed there. A trip is being planned for December of this year to purchase supplies locally using the donated funds and to distribute the goods.
Furthermore, a trip is planned for April 2024. Seminars for church staff and day camps for children will be held, and the churches will receive material support. We also intend to purchase and distribute 500 Bibles, valued at €3,000 to €3,500. In addition, two wells are to be built. Our Polish brothers have already raised the necessary funds for one well. For the second, which is somewhat more complex to construct, another €4,000 is needed.
If you are interested in participating in one of the trips, please contact Brother Nikolai Wall (0179 4740945).
