Thank-you letter from Uganda

11. September 2020 · 2 Min. lesen

Dear brothers and sisters,

We send a grateful smile from Uganda. Here in Uganda, we are currently overwhelmed. We are overwhelmed by the magnitude and solidarity of your generous donations. A deeper motivation compels me to thank you all – on behalf of the Stephanus Mission in Uganda, the children, the support staff, the members of the church, and the community surrounding the mission station – for this timely response in such a challenging situation, within just a few days.

Thank you so much for the gestures of kindness and financial support that remind us there is hope amidst this COVID-19 crisis. We believe more firmly than ever in what we have. It is the love and compassion expressed in your donations during the COVID-19 crisis. Given the scale of the need, your implementation and swift action of selfless giving has increased our respect for the unity and effectiveness of your unified efforts and the affirmation of Christ's greatest commandment. Tomorrow is a sure promise, as your short-term donations are astoundingly generous. Your helping hand has given children and families who were unhappily confined a real chance of survival during this challenging COVID-19 lockdown in Uganda. Thank you all for showing us that love finds its center beyond self.

May all these initial efforts—with constant prayer for us—become an endless chain of similar efforts. And once this COVID-19 crisis is over, we will remember how it felt to receive a helping hand and, in return, to do for someone else what you all did for us during this difficult time.

From the bottom of our hearts and on behalf of the Stephanus Mission, the children and members of the church in Uganda, we are very grateful and may God richly bless you all.

David Tumwine
