Dear friends of the mission,

In our fundraising appeal of June 1, 2021, we asked for help for Lisa Ohanian from Russia. She was born by cesarean section on October 3, 2016, with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and had to undergo surgery just five days after her birth. This was followed by further operations on her back and head.

To this day, she has a pelvic and foot deformity and therefore cannot walk without assistance. She also has kidney and bowel problems, as well as orthodontic issues, which resulted in very poor teeth. But the worst thing for Lisa is that she has grade 4 hearing loss. Many of you have supported Lisa and enabled her to receive good medical rehabilitation, assistive devices, and funding for dental treatment.

Healthy smile

Lisa's parents are overjoyed! They sent us a video showing Lisa using her wheelchair independently. Their letter clearly expresses their gratitude:

We greet you and would like to express our deep gratitude!

You didn't let us down in a difficult time and helped us with many questions. Now Lisa is smiling healthily and no longer has any problems chewing.

She was so happy when she saw the children's wheelchair. We are so glad that she can now play independently with other children. It is such a joy to see our daughter finally able to move around on her own. We are also grateful for your help in acquiring the chair with the table. Lisa can sit very comfortably in it while eating or during therapy. Thank you also for the wheelchair for outdoor use. We are incredibly grateful to the people who support families with sick children like ours. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be treated in a good rehabilitation center. May God bless you and reward you for this valuable work!

With gratitude, the Ohanian family
