John R. Cross | goodseed | 330 pages | €8.50
Wanting to better understand God's word—what a good and important desire! For those who have this longing, this book will be a great asset. The author manages, in an astonishingly simple and understandable way, to reveal the central theme of the Bible and thus clarify God's plan of salvation for humanity.
From the creation of the earth to Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, all the intermediate steps are illuminated in an interesting and vivid way, encouraging the reader to reflect and do further research. All relevant passages from the Word of God are cited, and important terms such as "Trinity," "Atonement," and many others are explained. Various timelines, images, and sketches, such as those depicting the construction of the Tabernacle or Jerusalem in Jesus' time, help to better visualize and understand these events.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Scriptures in their entirety. I also highly recommend it as a gift for those interested in the Bible or for new converts who are not yet familiar with it. This book will leave no one indifferent to God's love for humanity. The reader will have to take a stand—ignorance will no longer be an option.
