The book "God's Smuggler" describes the life of Anne van der Bijl. He is Dutch and known as Brother Andrew. He experienced a true conversion, and God subsequently called him to a dangerous ministry. He followed this call and began smuggling Bibles into the Eastern Bloc. With his VW Beetle, he reached numerous countries, including the Soviet Union, where possession of Bibles was strictly forbidden at the time. Despite the high risk of being caught by customs, Brother Andrew trusted in God.
One of his prayers at the border was: “Lord, you have made blind eyes see, so please make seeing eyes blind.” God answered this prayer as well. Brother Andrew is now 90 years old and still serves the Lord. Through his work, the organization “Open Doors” was founded, which advocates for persecuted Christians worldwide. The book vividly illustrates how God can call people and how God guides them when they follow that call.
