Rabindranath R. Maharaj | CLV | 256 pages | € 2.50
Rabi, a young Indian boy, enjoys all the privileges of his homeland. His family belongs to the Brahmins, the Indian priestly caste, and thus to the highest social class. He becomes increasingly immersed in meditation, yoga, ancient scriptures, and prayers to the many gods of Hinduism. As a result, he enters transcendental states, sees enchanting colors, hears mysterious music, and is transported to other worlds. The people revere him and place offerings at his feet.
Over time, however, Rabi begins to question his religion as disappointment, emptiness, and inner turmoil increasingly consume him. A highly respected religious scholar, he finds Jesus Christ during a life crisis. Some of his family also convert, but Rabi loses all power and honor among the people. Following Christ costs him dearly; he even burns all his idols. When God leads Rabi to Europe, He uses him there to win people for the Gospel.
This book offers a profound insight into the dangers of Eastern religions, which are also manifested in alternative healing methods and sports and fitness trends. However, it also reveals the remarkable way in which Jesus Christ draws those who truly seek him out of the deepest mire of occultism. The book is so engagingly written that readers will devour it.
