A report on the mission in Moldova
Due to the current situation, our work with children from socially disadvantaged families in the city of Belzi has intensified in recent months. This applies to both humanitarian and spiritual work.
Each of the 19 teachers is responsible for a specific group of the 178 children and maintains regular contact with them. They communicate with them personally or in group settings via the Viber app. This encourages and motivates the children to seek God in this situation.
Once a week, each child receives a link to a prepared Bible lesson online. This video includes a reading text and a homework sheet. Under the current circumstances, this is a good way to preach the gospel and edify the faith of children who are unable to attend church.
Since the children cannot be cared for at the community center during this time, we deliver a weekly food package to their homes. They are not allowed to be in town alone. Therefore, we call the adults in their families and invite them to the community center at a specific time to pick up the prepared items. If the adults are not reliable, we deliver the packages to the families ourselves.
Since the general situation has worsened, we have received additional requests from other children who do not normally participate in the program. The need is great, and we are trying our best to support the children.
