Can we manage to send 5000 packages together this year?
Surprisingly quickly, autumn returns, and then winter arrives. While we are filled with anticipation for the upcoming Christmas holidays, people in the war zone of Ukraine are looking ahead to this time with trepidation. Their grim daily lives are dominated by the fear of survival, attacks, cold, unemployment, insecurity, and the worry of what tomorrow will bring.
There is a biblical passage that greatly challenges us today: “If anyone has the possessions of this world and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? ” (1 John 3:17). Let us all come together to help those who are worse off than us today.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
1. Food package:
Pick up the empty cardboard box in Speyer at Boschstraße 26 or in all participating municipalities of the FECG.
Shop according to the list on the box, pack the box, fill it with clothes and bring it back to Speyer or your own community.
Collection ends on November 11, 2024
2. Financial support:
This year's financial contribution will also be used for aid in the war zone:
Purchase of fuels for heating (oil, wood, etc.)
Purchase of ovens (heating and cooking)
3. Shoeboxes for children in Ukraine:
Fill a shoebox with sweets, toys, pens, hats, gloves and surprises.
Please deliver filled boxes to the Speyer Mission or to the relevant parish.
