This book describes parenting methods in light of the Bible. It is not a manual, nor does it contain a magic formula. Nor can it, since no two people are alike, have the same children, or face the same life circumstances. Parenting is not automatic, as some might believe. It is painstaking work that should be planned and thoughtfully executed, requiring considerable perseverance and consistency.

Axel Volk places particular emphasis on the exemplary role of parents in their relationship with God. Because God entrusts them with authority, they bear a special responsibility before Him. This book makes that clear.
