Testimonials and reports about the collections of the last few months
A Swiss proverb says: "He who gives willingly doesn't need much persuading." It is striking that especially the proverbs that describe our ethical principles or social coexistence have their roots in the word of God – the Bible.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs: “Do not withhold good from the needy, when your hand is able. Do not say to your neighbor, ‘Go and come again; tomorrow I will give you,’ when you have it” (Prov 3:27-28/LUT 2017).
In recent months, we have received requests for support in particularly difficult cases. You have surely noticed that we have forwarded some of these requests to you in the form of donation appeals via WhatsApp status updates and information on our website.

11-year-old Mohamed from Libya is waiting for his operation.
Eleven-year-old Mohamed from Libya was diagnosed with bladder exstrophy at birth. This malformation was confirmed by two different clinics. He has already undergone operations, but without significant success. Mohamed is now 11 years old. He urgently needs extensive treatment, which can only be performed in a neighboring country. The doctors guarantee improvement after the operation. The costs for both operations and the hospital stay amount to €25,000. This money was raised very quickly thanks to your generosity and acts of kindness. Let us now pray together for open doors. There were difficulties with the first attempt to transfer the money. Please pray that Mohamed will soon receive the necessary treatment.
You probably remember the appeal for Evelina Jaskowez. Here in Speyer, we were able to experience firsthand how wonderful God is. Because the operation was performed in Heidelberg, her parents stayed overnight at the mission center in Speyer. Evelina is a friendly, patient, and well-behaved girl. She already had an appointment for her scoliosis surgery. This operation on her spine, between her neck and thoracic vertebrae, required a significant sum of money.
Similar to the woman in the Bible who suffered from a hemorrhage for 12 years and spent all her money on doctors, Evelina's parents also spent all their possessions on their daughter's treatment. Now, over €30,000 was needed for another operation. Believing in God, who provides for His children, we transferred this money to the hospital in advance. Our hope was that God would open the hearts of donors and that this sum could be covered. Thank God, just a few days later, the entire amount was covered by you, dear donors. Our God is a living God. The operation was successful, and the family was able to return home.
You even gave more than was needed for the operation. The remaining money you donate is not lost. Our bylaws stipulate that the money be used for similar causes. This cause didn't take long to emerge. Immediately afterward, we received a request from Israel.
From birth, Michael suffered from a genetic defect that left him so severely ill he could not learn to walk and his limbs were severely deformed. This boy, too, was able to be helped with the "excess" money raised.
Another example of the help that was organized for those affected is Jura from Rowno. Jura had a serious case of cancer and, thanks to treatment, is now completely healthy and able to work again. We see the Gospel being fulfilled.
“So you will be rich in everything, giving freely and sincerely, which through us produces thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this gathering not only fills what the saints lack, but also abounds in giving thanks to God in many. Because of this faithful ministry, they praise God for your obedience in confessing the gospel of Christ and for the sincerity of your fellowship with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you, they long for you because of the abundant grace of God toward you. Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:11-15). “For all this is done for your sake, so that grace may increase through many, and thanksgiving may abound to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:15).
We hope to continue helping people who find themselves in similar or similar situations due to various circumstances. After a thorough review of each individual case, we are prepared to support urgent needs in this way in the future as well.
Thank you for your trust in the work of Mission Stephanus. Pray for wisdom in distributing your gifts, so that gratitude to God may increase.
