Are you a Christian struggling with temptation and know the battle against it all too well? Or perhaps you've been wrestling with the same sin for a long time and are searching for a way out? Maybe you're even telling yourself that sinning isn't so bad, that you can always repent. The reasons for such a state often lie in the cunning tricks the enemy uses against the children of God.

In his book, Thomas Brooks, an English preacher, writer, and, for some, one of the most important Puritans of the 17th century, describes Satan's cunning and suggests effective measures to protect oneself from it. He supports his arguments with numerous biblical passages and invites further reading and reflection.

This book makes it especially clear how diverse the methods the "ancient serpent" uses today to lead Christians astray from the path of faith and into a fruitless life. The author describes a whole range of temptations, attacks, and insidious schemes designed to destroy humanity in general, but especially to tempt Christians into sin, distract them from their duties, and keep them trapped in a state of despair.

Ultimately, the book offers very detailed and concrete instructions for action, which on the one hand are intended to prevent falling, and on the other hand are intended to help the fallen person to return to a victorious and grace-filled life in Christ.
